Clearance Rack

Stampin' Up! just added 70 more items to the clearance rack.  There are some great items on sale that you won't want to miss out on!  These are while supplies last so click on the link below to begin shopping now.

Volleyball Senior Rec

If you don't know this about me already well here you go.  I am an assistant girls volleyball coach at a local high school in the area.  We had our senior rec last night and I wanted to make cards for our 4 seniors that the coaches could sign.  Our colors are white, black and red.  Here's what I came up with:

Since I'm a bit of a procrastinator and don't get inspired until I'm under the gun, I needed something simple.  I really wanted to make a volleyball player punch art but not when I started at 10 pm the night before.  Definitely for next year even though there could be 7 seniors.  I better make sure I don't wait until the night before!

This also made me realize that I don't have any sport inspired stamps.  I had to hand draw the volleyball on my circle punch.  Add to my wish list of things I need to order.  Thank goodness for having my discount as a Stampin' Up! demonstrator ;)

Supplies needed to make this card:

Card Stock: Whisper White card 5-1/2" x 4-1/4"
Real Red DSP from Patterns Pack Brights Collection 5-1/2" x 1-3/4"
Whisper White scrap for square and circle punch
Basic Black scrap for die cutting

Ink: Basic Black to sponge volleyball
        Basic Black marker
        Real Red marker

Accessories: Sponge Dauber
                     Crystal Effects
                      Snail Adhesive
                      Stampin' Dimensionals
Tools:  1-3/8" square punch
            2-1/2" circle punch
            Big Shot
            Typeset Alphabet Bigz Die

Masculine Birthday Card

This card was inspired again by a card I saw on Pinterest.  You can see the original at Laura's Cards and More.  I needed a card I could make for my Grandfather's 95th birthday.  It's very hard to find masculine style cards and knew this would be perfect.

Supplies needed to make this card:

Card Stock: Crumb Cake base 5-1/2" x 4-1/4"
                    Very Vanilla 5-1/4" x 4"
                    Comfort Cafe DSP strips

Stamp Set: Bring on the Cake
Bring on the Cake - Clear-Mount Stamp - Clear-Mount Stamp Set - by Stampin' Up!
Ink: Cherry Cobbler

Accessories: Snail Adhesive

This card is so simple that you only need paper, ink and a stamp to create it!  This would be great for those just starting out making your own cards.

Stampin' Up! Adhesive Options
Step 1: Stamp 20 of the larger ornament images on Very Vanilla card stock with Old Olive ink. Cut out with the coordinating Holiday Ornaments Framelits Die using the Big Shot. Stamp 20 of the small ornament images on Very Vanilla card stock with Cherry Cobbler ink. Cut out with the coordinating Holiday Ornaments Framelits Die using the Big Shot. Score 15 of each ornament in half from top to bottom using the Simply Scored Scoring Tool. Fold in half along the score line.

Step 2: Use the Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere three of the scored ornaments together. Adhere one half of the first ornament lined up with one half of the next ornament and then do the same with the third ornament. Leave one half of the first and last ornaments un-glued. Repeat the steps until you have created 5 sets of the 3-ornament groupings in each ornament style. Add Multipurpose Liquid Glue to the halves of the first and last ornaments in the 3-ornament grouping. Adhere to the back of an un-scored ornament of the same style. Repeat for all 5 sets of each style.

Step 3: Punch a circle from scrap card stock using the 1-3/8” Circle Punch. Place the circle on the Silicone Craft Sheet. Add a line of hot glue around the edge of the circle. Position the necks of the larger Old Olive ornaments, flat side down, evenly around the circle. Press into the hot glue. Use the Bone Folder to avoid burning yourself. Nest the smaller ornaments with the larger ornaments.

To finish up, add Tulle Ribbon and linen thread, and create a rosette to add to the center of the ornament with the clear button using hot glue. Punch a hole for ribbon at the top. Optional: Add Dazzling Details Stampin’ Glitter or Champaign Shimmer Mist to add sparkle to the finished ornament.

How to Color Silver Glimmer Paper

Yesterday I showed a birthday card with the silver glimmer paper that was colored midnight muse.  I wanted to tell you how to do this.  It's very simple but such a WOW technique.
Before
You start with the silver glimmer paper.  With the ink refill place some drops in the ink pad of the same color.  I used midnight muse.  With a sponge dauber pick up some ink and start dabbing onto the glimmer paper.  Add as much or as little ink as you feel gets the effect you want.  Be ready to get messy with this technique though.  Make sure your work surface is covered before attempting this as well.  You might want to use the heat embossing tool to set the ink because it could take AWHILE to dry.  But how cool does this look and the possibilities it presents!!
After
I just love how you can add bling and have it match whatever color project you are working on just by using our Silver Glimmer Paper 124005 $4.95 2 sheets of 12" x 12", ink refill $2.95 and sponge daubers 102892 $10.95 for 12 daubers!  So simple but WOW that is cool!!

Birthday Card

Yesterday I posted the 30 sucks birthday gift I created for my friend.  Here's the card that I made to go with the gift.  This was designed using a card sketch from my local demonstrator group so all I had to do was figure out what supplies I was going to use.  I tried out a new technique that I learned from my upline at our local group meeting with the silver glimmer paper.  Click here to see how I changed the silver to midnight muse!

Supplies needed to make this card:

Card Stock: Midnight Muse base 4-1/4" x 5-1/2"

30 Sucks!

Front
I had a friend turning 30 a few weeks back and saw this idea on Pinterest that I knew I wanted to do.  You fill a container with lollipops and create the tag.  I used Patio Party DSP as the band around the container.  I ran Midnight Muse through the Big Shot with the Floral Frames Framelits Dies. I punched out a circle using the 2-1/2" Circle Punch.  I used the Marvelous Markers to freehand "30 Sucks."  Finally I added Dazling Details to add a little bling to the 30!  It was a big hit when I gave it to my friend.

Tissue paper I stamped on for an added touch to the bag

Happy Birthday Card and Gift

I am an assistant high school volleyball coach.  The other person I coach with had a birthday on Saturday so I wanted to make her a little something.  I had baked cookies using the Special Events sweet pressed cookie stamp sets over the weekend and all I had to do was make a cute tag to close the bag with!  I put the cookies in our medium flat cello bags.  I created the tag by stamping the 3rd largest image from Daydream Medallions.
Daydream Medallions Clear-Mount Stamp Set
I then stamped "a gift for you" from Bring on the Cake
Bring on the Cake - Clear-Mount Stamp - Clear-Mount Stamp Set - by Stampin' Up!
I used the coordinating die cuts from Floral Frames Framelits Dies to run the whisper white and DSP from Howlstooth and Scaringbone through the big shot.  I used snail adhesive to put the flowers together than tied the ribbon around the bag with white bakers twine.  This is a simple gift that doesn't take much time to make.

Of course I needed a card to go with the cookies though and here's what I came up with.

I saw this card on splitcoaststampers.com by Christine Kokiw and wanted to try it.  I just love how simple but neat this card looks.  This was a simple card to make that doesn't require a lot of supplies that could be adapted for other occasions.  I'm thinking of trying this out for thank you cards.

Supplies needed to make this card:

Card Stock: Tangerine Tango base 4-1/4" x 5-1/2"
                     Whisper White layer 4" x 5-1/4"

Stamp Set: Bring on the Cake (clear mount) 121958 $27.95 (wood mount) 121899 $38.95

Ink: Tangerine Tango
        Pacific Point
        So Saffron
        Old Olive
        Tempting Turquoise

Accessories: Old Olive 1/2" Scallop Dots Ribbon
          Tools: Big Shot
Houndstooth Textured Impressions Embossing Folder Die
Stamp-a-ma-jig (I don't usually use this tool but it worked perfect to line up "Happy Birthday")
                     Craft and Paper Scissors
   Adhesives: Snail
Mini Glue Dots to glue ribbon ends on back of whisper white

Get Well Card

My mom had knee replacement surgery about a month ago.  She's doing great during her recovery.  She has been a BIG help with our boys so I can work and my husband can go back to school.  She loves handmade cards so I knew this was a perfect time to make a get well soon one.  I rarely have to make these types so it was a little hard.  Luckily, my local demonstrator group had a card sketch challenge to get me started on the design.  I just had to figure out what I wanted to use.

I love the colors and design to this card.  It was a lot of fun making and I even got my oldest son to help.  He was SO proud when he gave it to Grandma and told her he helped make it.  Maybe I have a future crafter on my hands (fingers crossed since I have 2 boys ;)

Supplies needed to make this card:

Card Stock: Old Olive base 5-1/2" by 4-1/4"
Not Quite Navy 5" x 5" and scrap for punching
                     Cajun Craze scrap for punching
                     Whisper White 2" x 2"
                     Comfort Cafe DSP

Stamp Set: Easy Events Clear-mount stamp #123225 (I colored just the tree with makers)
Delightful Dozen for "Get Well Soon" #122652

Ink: Old Olive to stamp tree then color image with Marvelous Markers
       Not Quite Navy for sentiment
Cajun Craze to ink whisper white edges

Accessories: Old Olive 1/2" Scallop Dots Ribbon
                     Brights Designer Buttons
                     Basic Pearls Jewel Accents

Thank You

If you don't know this about me already you will now.  I am literally OBSESSED with Pinterest.  I just LOVE all of the ideas that you can get from it.  I saw this card on Pinterest and knew I had to case it!  Coolest thing about Pinterest is that most pictures will take you to the blog post for more details about the project.  If you aren't on Pinterest you need to be!  You can follow my boards by clicking on the Pinterest button on my sidebar.

I had a lady place an order through my online store so I wanted to send her a thank you card.  I just happened to be on Pinterest and saw this card by Lynn Weiss.  I didn't have the same colors that she used so I adapted it to fit my supplies.  This picture just doesn't do the Tempting Turquoise justice though.

Here are the supplies to make this card:

Card Stock: Crumb Cake base 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" and scraps for circle punches and rectangle
                    Tempting Turquoise 4" x 5-1/4"
Early Espresso scrap for circle punches
Very Vanilla scrap for circle punches

Stamp Set: Just Believe Clear #120453 $25.95 Wood #116948 $33.95

                     Basic Pearls
Tools: Paper Piercing Tool, Mat and Essentials pack to create punched border around card
                     1-1/4" Circle Punch
                     1-3/8" Circle Punch
