Wedding Touches with Stampin' Up!

My sister got married 1.4.14.  We had a lot of handmade touches especially as I am a Stampin' Up! demonstrator and it's what I do!!  I just wanted to show you some pictures of the things I made for her to use.

These first pictures are signs I made using My Digital Studio (MDS).  She had various baskets of things that people could borrow during the night to keep them warm since it was a winter wedding.

Basket of slippers

Basket of Gloves

Koozies basket

Basket of Scarves
Sign made with MDS to honor deceased family members who couldn't be at the wedding

The next pictures are banners I made for the 2 bars that she was having; s'more and hot chocolate bar.  These signs hung from the tables in front of the bar.

It really was a great pleasure helping my sister plan for her wedding.  I look forward to planning her baby shower when that comes around!

Mr and Mrs

My husband's sister was getting remarried this weekend and I needed a cute card.  I absolutely love the owl punch and had a perfect reason to use it.  I found the inspiration for these bride and groom owls at Lynda's Quiet Time.  I just LOVE how this card came out and those owls are so darn cute!!

Her favorite color is pink so that's why I went with this color scheme.  You could match the colors with the wedding theme if you wanted.  Here's a close up of the owls.

Just a few notes about how to put this card together.  I stamped, embossed and cut the Mr. and Mrs. sentiment so I could loop the ribbon around the & and have it stand out.  I freehand cut the grooms hat and bow tie.  I punched feet in whisper white to make her look like she's wearing shoes.  I used the blender pen and melon mambo ink to make her eyes look like she has shadow on.  The melon mambo heart comes from the owl punch as well.

Supplies needed to make this card:

Card Stock: Basic Black base 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 and scrap for owl punch
Whisper White layer 4 x 5-1/4 and scrap for stamp and owl punch

Wedding Card Envelope

Like my post yesterday being able to finally have a reason to make a card that I've always wanted to; I have always wanted to decorate my envelopes but never have.  I was always afraid that the mail wouldn't accept the envelope and it would be ruined.  And usually when I pass out cards I don't waste an envelope unless it's necessary to have the card hidden.

Since I knew that I wouldn't be mailing this card and had a reason to keep the card hidden, gave me the reasons I needed to decorate the envelope finally!!

Card with outside envelope

I used the same stamp set as I did with the card Baroque Motif.  I love how people use the Designer Series Paper on the inside of envelopes so I wanted to incorporate that.  My intention was to cut along the top flap so you only see the DSP when it's opened but loved how this looked when I left some showing.  I just rounded the corners to match the flap.  Finally, I had to figure out how to close it, since I covered the seal with DSP.  I saw this technique at Regional and was so happy I remembered it.  I think it just adds such a cute touch to the card and allows the recipient to unwind the twine so the envelope isn't ruined!

Here's how to do it: Punch 2 hears with the Small Heart Punch than a adhere to envelope with Stampin' Dimensionals.  Add Rhinestones to the center and cut some Bakers Twine (I used white) and wind around hearts to close the envelope.

Simple but I love how this envelope turned out to go with my wedding card.  I might just have to do this more often now that I love the added touch the decorated envelope gives my handmade cards.

Wedding Card

My husband's cousin is getting married today and was so excited because gave me an excuse to make this card.

I have seen this card done so many times and have always wanted to do my own version but never had a reason to.  So as soon as we got the invitation, I was already planning this card out in my head months in advance.  If you can't tell her colors are pink.  I just love how this card turned out with the pop of pink behind the hearts.  I have to admit this is one of my favorite designs for a card and I can't wait to make more (which will happen at the end of April when my husband's Aunt and Uncle get married!!)
