Occasions Mini Catalog

I can't believe I almost forgot!

The Occasions mini catalog expires Monday!
See the catalog HERE if you don't have a hard copy to look through.

With all of the retiring lists coming out, I feel like this month has been shadowed by that.  So this weekend would be the perfect time to place an order.  If you know that you would like anything from the Occasions catalog before it's gone, you might as well check the retiring lists Stamps and Accessories and Decor Elements to add to your order.  Another good thing to check out right now is the clearance rack.  There are some products at GREAT discounts!  Also remember when you reach $150, you receive the hostess benefits of $25 worth of FREE products!  So make sure to check that catalog, retiring lists and clearance rack before it's too late!

To begin your order head to my online store HERE or contact me.

Sweet Pressed Snickerdoodle Cookies

If you are not aware of Stampin' Up's sweet pressed cookie stamp sets than you are missing out!  These are the cutest silicone stamps that allow you to add a stamped image onto your cookies.  It's so simple you won't even believe it.  Each set comes with 3 different designs.
Occasions
Holidays, orange is pumpkin face that you can't see

A sugar and shortbread cookie recipes come with the set when you order them.  I just had to find other cookies that would work with these because I can only take sugar or shortbread so much!  I found someone had tried snickerdoodle and it worked.  I just had to try and wanted to take pictures of each step to show you how easy using these cookie stamps really are.

I found the cookie recipe here.  All you have to do is omit the baking soda from your snickerdoodle recipe if you are using these cookie stamps.  The cookies will not expand during baking without the baking soda which keeps the image on the cookie.

Here's how to make these snickerdoodle cookies:
  1. Make your snickerdoodle recipe without baking soda.  Allow dough to cool in fridge four about 30 minutes.  This will help prevent the cookie dough from sticking to your stamp

2. Using cookie scooper, place about 2 inch ball and roll sugar and cinnamon mix on ball

3. Line up on cookie sheet

4. Choose image to use and place on wooden handle

5. Trying to center the handle on the ball, begin to press down

6. Using even pressure, push down until the dough is right at the edge of the stamp all the way around.
7. Than use your fingers to gently remove stamp around the cookie.

8. Switch handle with another stamp

9. Repeat steps 5 through 7.
10. Switch stamps and repeat steps 5 through 7

10. Bake cookies according to recipe (my oven isn't the best so I can't give you an exact time)

11. Pull out cookies and cool

The pictures after baking aren't the best but hopefully you can see the image come out on each cookie.  I think the flowers came out the best.  I just absolutely love these cookie stamps and can't wait to see what ones Stampin' Up! comes out with next.

Name that Set?

If you remember a few weeks ago I mentioned that I was participating in a demonstrator swap with ladies who are in my upline Stampin' Up group.  I made 10 of the same cards.  It took some time but I really enjoyed it and I was proud of what I came up with.

I mailed them off with a return envelope for my swaps to be mailed back to me.  Boy was I excited to see them in the mail last Monday when I came home from work.  It was like Christmas all over again!

After seeing all of the cards, I can tell we have a VERY creative group of local demonstrators.  I look forward to more swaps and getting lots of inspiration from these ladies!

I will post one card a day (except for weekends) so you aren't overwhelmed with pictures in one post.  Plus it will be something to look forward to each morning as I post at 7am EST.

The swap was to feature one new stamp set from the Occasions mini catalog.
Can you name the stamp set on each card everyday?
Jot down your answers and on the 10th day (February 10th), email me your answers to be put into a drawing for a FREE gift for having all of the answers correct each day.  To qualify all you have to do is visit my blog each day, note the name of the stamp set used from the Occasions mini catalog than email me your answers on February 10th!  You have all day to submit your answers than I will notify the winner the next day so they can claim their prize!

So, let's get started with the first card.  Can you name that set?

Note: This card isn't my creation but I have been given permission by the creator Jen Smyzd to share on my blog.  She's my upline and a wonderful crafter.  Check her blog out to see more!

Occasions Demonstrator Swap

One great thing about being a demonstrator is the support you get from other demonstrators.  I am attending a group meeting with my upline demonstrators (these are the people that I have signed up underneath) at the end of January.  I am participating in the swap with stamp sets from the new Occasions Mini Catalog starting today!  Take a look at the catalog HERE.  (Sidebar will be updated when I have a second as well)

We are to include the stamp set of our choice so I chose P.S. I Love You.  I just liked everything about this set for Valentine's day and to express love!  Our requirements are 3 layers and 1 embellishment.  Here's what I came up with.
P.S. I Love You

Closeup to see the embossed and dimension to this card.
A lot of these things are in the new Occasions catalog.  Take a look at what I used to make this card.

Cardstock: Whisper White
Melon Mambo (even though the picture doesn't really show the true color)
                   Daffodil Delight
                   Tempting Turquoise
                   Tempting Turquoise Designer Series Paper

Ink: Melon Mambo
        Tempting Turquoise
        Daffodil Delight

Stamp Set: P.S. I Love You from new Occasions Mini Catalog!  (Middle stamped heart, saying and border around saying are apart of set)

Accessories: Tempting Turquoise Glitter brads
                      Mat Pack
                      Paper Piercing Tool
Clear Mount Block (I used C)
                      Modern Label Punch
Framelits Heart Die from Occasions catalog (These are wonderful to make all different size hearts on any size paper.  I used the framelits on the stamped heart and heart behind it.
Fashionable Hearts Embosslits Die from Occasions catalog (These are the hearts that are embossed)
                      Mini Glue Dots
                      Dimensionals
                      Snail Adhesive

I would love to hear what you think of this card since it's new and my own creation along with your thoughts on the new Occasions catalog!

Stampin' Up is offering a FREE digital download for reaching 100,000+ fans on facebook!!

Here's what Stampin' Up says on their page:
Thank you for being our friends! To show our appreciation for our 100,000 (plus) Facebook fans, we’re giving away a free digital kit to EVERYONE to use with My Digital Studio (or any other design software if My Digital Studio is not available where you live). The Day in the Life kit contains Designer Series Papers, embellishments, a Designer Template, and is valued at $14.95(US)! To download the kit, just follow the link below. And so you (and your friends) have plenty of time to download the kit, we’ll make sure it is available through January 10.

To receive your downloads, find the link on my own Stampin' Up facebook page or Stampin' Up's facebook page.  You will be taken to a survey first to complete than download your content.  What a great way to say thank you to all their fans!!  I'll be completing my survey once I'm home from work.

Second, today is the last day to place your Holiday Mini catalog order before it's over.  Sad to see it go but excited to introduce everyone to the Occasions Mini catalog starting tomorrow.  There are SO many cute things, I can't wait to share with you.  Stay tuned tomorrow to see the new catalog.

Anyways, if you haven't seen the carryover items from the Holiday catalog check them out HERE
You will be able to order these and only these items after today.  The most talked about item NOT returning is the Stocking Punch.  I used that on my Christmas cards this year if you want to see an example.  If this is something you want to have for future use, make sure to place an order through my online store HERE

Only 2 more days for the Clearance Rack Blitz going on too.  Today would be a great day to place an order for both Holiday mini and Clearance Rack items.  There are current punches being sold for half off because they are the old style.  I placed an order to get a bunch of these punches because they do the same thing as the new style punches.  Plus I LOVE saving money on things I'll use!!  I hope you get everything you are looking for!

Check back tomorrow for the Occasions Mini catalog release!!!
