Name that Set?

If you remember a few weeks ago I mentioned that I was participating in a demonstrator swap with ladies who are in my upline Stampin' Up group.  I made 10 of the same cards.  It took some time but I really enjoyed it and I was proud of what I came up with.

I mailed them off with a return envelope for my swaps to be mailed back to me.  Boy was I excited to see them in the mail last Monday when I came home from work.  It was like Christmas all over again!

After seeing all of the cards, I can tell we have a VERY creative group of local demonstrators.  I look forward to more swaps and getting lots of inspiration from these ladies!

I will post one card a day (except for weekends) so you aren't overwhelmed with pictures in one post.  Plus it will be something to look forward to each morning as I post at 7am EST.

The swap was to feature one new stamp set from the Occasions mini catalog.
Can you name the stamp set on each card everyday?
Jot down your answers and on the 10th day (February 10th), email me your answers to be put into a drawing for a FREE gift for having all of the answers correct each day.  To qualify all you have to do is visit my blog each day, note the name of the stamp set used from the Occasions mini catalog than email me your answers on February 10th!  You have all day to submit your answers than I will notify the winner the next day so they can claim their prize!

So, let's get started with the first card.  Can you name that set?

Note: This card isn't my creation but I have been given permission by the creator Jen Smyzd to share on my blog.  She's my upline and a wonderful crafter.  Check her blog out to see more!

Valentine Card

I have been doing a lot of crafting because I have a table at a local craft fair on January 29th.  I am hoping to sell some of my work but most importantly to promote my business.  It's a Valentine themed fair so my next couple of samples will be Valentines.  My first picture is a full card that's very simple to make but I absolutely love this layout.  I found it on Pinterest.  Side note: if you aren't following me on pinterest or have no clue what that is, check it out because you are going to love it!  But beware, can waste hours finding ideas!  Click on the red pinterest button on the left sidebar to follow my pins.

Anyways,  like I said I cased it from Pinterest from www.simpleandsincere.com but I changed it just a little to make it my own.

Close up to show bling, bling!!
Supplies needed to make this card:

Cardstock: Whisper White
                    Cherry Cobbler
                    Daffodil Delight

Ink: Cherry Cobbler
       Early Espresso

Stamp set: P.S. I Love You from Occasions Mini (this has become my favorite stamp set from the new Occasions mini catalog)

Accessories: Clear mount block C
                     Pinking Hearts Border Punch
                     Full Heart Punch
                     Modern Label Punch
                     Snail Adhesive
                     Stampin Dimensionals
Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details (glitter on hearts) from Occasions Mini

That's all it takes to make this simple but beautiful card.  I've made about 15 so far.  I'm working on other cards and candy holders so stay tuned to see what I come up with next for Valentine's day!

What I'm Working On

Just a quick update to let everyone know what I'm working on this month.

  • Craft fair projects are beginning this weekend.  It took me some time to figure out what I want to sell and I think I have it all figured out.  So, starting this weekend is beginning an insane amount of Valentine projects!  They need to be done for the fair on January 29th.  Luckily I have recruited my mom and sister (who are awesome crafters) to help me.  At least we'll be spending some quality time together doing something we all love.
  • I am also working on my next class that will be featuring the Create & Keep Simply Sent Card Kit.  As well as my in person class, I am offering it as an online kit with instructions and tutorial when placed through my online store.  More details in a future blog post so stay tuned if you are interested!  Here's a picture of everything included in the Kit that we will be turning into a card box and 10 cards:
Create & Keep Simply Sent

  • Sale a Bration starts at the end of this month so I'm figuring out offering a booking party that you don't have to come to a workshop for.  You just take catalogs to various coworkers/friends/family that you think will place an order.  Details to follow in another blog post as well once I have it all figured out.
That's it for now.  I'm hoping to get back to sharing my pictures of projects, but just haven't had much time to craft.  There have been some major life changes in our family that have affected my crafting time.  Hopefully things settle down and can get back to what I love!

Monthly Newsletter

I have been trying to think of ways to improve my business and provide contact with my customers.  Stampin' Up has a monthly newsletter Ecard that I can send but there's not much of a personal touch on my end with the card.  I have been wanting to start making my own newsletters where I can fully add the content I want to send and make it more personal to my customers.  After lots and LOTS of research, I found a FREE :) site that allows me to create newsletters to send to my customers.  It's still a MAJOR work in progress, but it's a start.  Since it's a new year and new beginnings this is where I can make a difference with my business.  If you would like to receive my newly designed newsletter, please provide your email to the left of this post where it says "Subscribe to my Newsletter."  You will be added to my monthly newsletter list and will receive my newsletter around the first of each month.  (That's as long as the kids cooperate!  (Which can be hard with 2 boys aged 2 and 10 months!))  I promise you WILL NOT be added to any other junk mail.  Your email will only be used to send my newsletter with Stampin' Up information!  Just had to clear that up because we all know what a pain in the butt junk mail is.

I look forward to sending you my monthly newsletter which will include current promotions, upcoming promotions and events, samples of Stampin' Up work as well as samples I have created using my own supplies.  This is something you won't want to miss out on.  Sign up today to start receiving my newsletter!

Occasions Demonstrator Swap

One great thing about being a demonstrator is the support you get from other demonstrators.  I am attending a group meeting with my upline demonstrators (these are the people that I have signed up underneath) at the end of January.  I am participating in the swap with stamp sets from the new Occasions Mini Catalog starting today!  Take a look at the catalog HERE.  (Sidebar will be updated when I have a second as well)

We are to include the stamp set of our choice so I chose P.S. I Love You.  I just liked everything about this set for Valentine's day and to express love!  Our requirements are 3 layers and 1 embellishment.  Here's what I came up with.
P.S. I Love You

Closeup to see the embossed and dimension to this card.
A lot of these things are in the new Occasions catalog.  Take a look at what I used to make this card.

Cardstock: Whisper White
Melon Mambo (even though the picture doesn't really show the true color)
                   Daffodil Delight
                   Tempting Turquoise
                   Tempting Turquoise Designer Series Paper

Ink: Melon Mambo
        Tempting Turquoise
        Daffodil Delight

Stamp Set: P.S. I Love You from new Occasions Mini Catalog!  (Middle stamped heart, saying and border around saying are apart of set)

Accessories: Tempting Turquoise Glitter brads
                      Mat Pack
                      Paper Piercing Tool
Clear Mount Block (I used C)
                      Modern Label Punch
Framelits Heart Die from Occasions catalog (These are wonderful to make all different size hearts on any size paper.  I used the framelits on the stamped heart and heart behind it.
Fashionable Hearts Embosslits Die from Occasions catalog (These are the hearts that are embossed)
                      Mini Glue Dots
                      Dimensionals
                      Snail Adhesive

I would love to hear what you think of this card since it's new and my own creation along with your thoughts on the new Occasions catalog!

I Love Stampin' Up

First thing first.  The FREE stuff!!

Stampin' Up is offering a FREE digital download for reaching 100,000+ fans on facebook!!

Here's what Stampin' Up says on their page:
Thank you for being our friends! To show our appreciation for our 100,000 (plus) Facebook fans, we’re giving away a free digital kit to EVERYONE to use with My Digital Studio (or any other design software if My Digital Studio is not available where you live). The Day in the Life kit contains Designer Series Papers, embellishments, a Designer Template, and is valued at $14.95(US)! To download the kit, just follow the link below. And so you (and your friends) have plenty of time to download the kit, we’ll make sure it is available through January 10.

To receive your downloads, find the link on my own Stampin' Up facebook page or Stampin' Up's facebook page.  You will be taken to a survey first to complete than download your content.  What a great way to say thank you to all their fans!!  I'll be completing my survey once I'm home from work.

Second, today is the last day to place your Holiday Mini catalog order before it's over.  Sad to see it go but excited to introduce everyone to the Occasions Mini catalog starting tomorrow.  There are SO many cute things, I can't wait to share with you.  Stay tuned tomorrow to see the new catalog.

Anyways, if you haven't seen the carryover items from the Holiday catalog check them out HERE
You will be able to order these and only these items after today.  The most talked about item NOT returning is the Stocking Punch.  I used that on my Christmas cards this year if you want to see an example.  If this is something you want to have for future use, make sure to place an order through my online store HERE

Only 2 more days for the Clearance Rack Blitz going on too.  Today would be a great day to place an order for both Holiday mini and Clearance Rack items.  There are current punches being sold for half off because they are the old style.  I placed an order to get a bunch of these punches because they do the same thing as the new style punches.  Plus I LOVE saving money on things I'll use!!  I hope you get everything you are looking for!

Check back tomorrow for the Occasions Mini catalog release!!!

Mickey Mouse Thank You Cards

I finally got my son's thank you cards done for his second birthday.  (They are only a month late, bad?)  I made 7 of the following thank you cards.  (I can only imagine when I have to make double/triple/quadruple that amount how behind I will be :/)

We had Mickey Mouse themed party

You can see the dimension in this picture

All 7 finished together!!!!
I think this card came out really cute.  Another simple one to put together once I figured out what I wanted it to look like.  Here's what I used to make these cards:

Cardstock: Whisper White
                   Real Red
                   Basic Black
                   Daffodil Delight

Ink: Basic Black

Stamp Set: Thank You Kindly

Accessories: Circle Punches (1-3/8" and 1-3/4")
                      Basic Black 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon
Cherry Cobbler 1/2" Scallop Dots Ribbon
                      Snail Adhesive
                      Mini Glue Dots
                      Dimensionals

A very simple card with little supplies needed.  I think the recipients will be very happy to receive this thank you card.  The inside is plan where I will have my son "sign" (or draw circles because that's how he colors right now!) and I will write thank you for the ____ gift, love D.J.
